NEWS UPDATE SPRING/SUMMER 2010

Well here we are in the beginning of spring and looking for summer. Spring seems to be in full bloom. Drivers are going to work, school, and long holiday weekends, or vacationing. How are they going to handle the road conditions? We at Community Driver Safety Programs, Inc. (CDSP) hope our students remember what they learned and SLOW DOWN.

We have continued instructing classes in the National Safety Council (NSC) Defensive Driving 4, 6/8 Courses (DDC4, DDC6/8), Alive@25 Program and the Certified Emergency Operator Course (CEVO) in Sullivan, Rockland and Orange Counties in NY and Scranton, PA.

We have continued instructing High School students in the Alive@25 Program. In fact, from January 2008 to June 2008 no High School student in Sullivan County had a crash that resulted in injury or death..

In 2009 we instructed more than 800 people in DDC4, DDC6/8, Alive@25 and CEVO.

This past year many changes have been made in our company. NSC has certified us to train people who want to become Instructors in the DDC4, or DDC6/8 programs. We are now accepting tax-deductible donations and grants in order to reduce costs to students of all age groups. The donations will allow us to charge students between $15.00 and $20.00, depending on the amount of donations and grants.

In April we started a raffle fundraiser to be drawn in September to benefit our Alive @ 25 program for young drivers. Since the raffle started we have been able to reduce the cost to the students to $25.00. Please, if you wish to help us reach more young drivers, in driver safety, at a lower cost join our fundraiser. Many companies have donated prizes for this raffle. An example of the prizes are: Trip to New York City from The First National Bank of Jeffersonville, Trip to Atlantic City from Leprechaun Bus Lines, Gift Certificate from Benji and Jake's Pizza, Car Wash from S&M Auto Sales, 6 month subscription from the Sullivan County Democrat and many more.

Plans are being made to run fundraisers for all drivers so that we can lower the cost of the program to all age groups. Our over all plan is that no one will have to pay more then $25.00 for the course.

We are also looking for additional locations in Orange and Rockland Counties, NY and Northeastern PA to give courses. Any location can use the programs to help in improving safety on the roads and as a fundraiser. After all we are trying to make the roads safer for everyone. The more people who take the course, the better and safer are the roads. An additional benefit in taking the DDC course is Point Reduction and maybe a reduction in Insurance costs.
